The next meeting of the General Membership will
be Thursday, Sept 16th, 2010 at 8:30 pm.
This meeting is open to everyone. Please
consider this your invitation to join us.
THE Sept MEETING WILL BE HELD AT THE DELHI LODGE
PRESIDENT // DON JASPER
YOU ARE A MEMBER! If you signed up your
child to play a sport with DAA, you are a member! All members are
encouraged to attend the General Membership meetings.
I want to remind everyone our next General
Membership meeting is September 16. This meeting is open to all. We
do ask for a $3 donation to cover the expense of the snacks, beer
and pop; this is a donation and not a requirement to get into the
meeting! We do ask you sign the attendance book as to keep track of
who is eligible to vote and run for office. This is the best way to
see how the "off the field" DAA works and what it takes to run this
organization. Although we are always looking for more help with the
behind the scenes responsibilities, just coming to a GM meeting does
not mean you are signing up to do anything. You can come, enjoy a
drink, a snack and listen. No strings attached!
September is our third month we are taking
nominations for the elections at our October GM meeting. I would
like nothing more for there to be some tough choices on the October
ballot. We have a lot of good people getting involved in DAA these
days. If you are interested in possibly running for a position,
please check the by-laws or ask me or Marty Smith what the
requirements and responsibilities are of those positions. We need
good people; this is not to say we don’t have good people now, but
the more the better. I would like to see many names on the ballot,
and if you run and loose, don’t let it get you down. There are lots
of things to be a part of within our organization!
2nd VICE PRESIDENT // ANDY
ANGELO
Soccer, Football and Cheerleading are off
to a great start!
If you happen to be bored on a Saturday or
Sunday, take a drive and see if one of our teams is playing.
As fall approaches, it is a great time to
attend the General Membership meetings and learn more about the
organization and find out what is going on. Casual atmosphere with
drinks and snacks.
NOMINATIONS/ELECTION COMMITTEE CHAIRPERSON
//
MARTY SMITH
We will have our third and last month of
nominations at the September meeting. Please consider running for
one of the offices.
SOCCER COORDINATOR // JEFF ESSEN
Another fall soccer season has started and
the first round of games have started with minimal issues. A
reminder to all coaches to post your winning scores within 48 hours
of match completion or you could have a 1 pt deduction in your
overall standings. You post your scores at
www.wasasaysoccer.com,
then click on Score Reporting. All coaches need to download and
print out 8 score cards from the WASA website under the handout
section and take them to the game with you.
LOLLIPOP/PRE-PASSER COORDINATOR // MARC
REED
Well, another fall season has started for
Lollipop and the goals are in bunches. The games have started and
will continue until October 8th. We have some really good coaches
out there teaching some really excited kids the game of soccer. All
of the coaches say they are having a blast (we will check back
later) and the kids are full of smiles. Pre passers have started
their practices and will start playing on the Sunday after Labor
day. Have a great season.
BASEBALL COORDINATOR // ANDY ANGELO
We are looking to start a list of people
interested in coaching and class coordinators for 2011.
We still need coaches for 8yr, 12yr and
13yr Eagles teams
SOFTBALL COORDINATOR // DON JASPER
We are looking to expand the Eagle
Fastpitch Select program. We are looking for coaches for U10, and
U14.
UNIFORMS AND EQUIPMENT COORDINATOR // MARC
REED
The equipment has been passed out, if you
have any problems with the equipment let me know and we can replace
it. Uniforms have all been passed out, if you have any issues with
uniforms please let me know as well and we will work to get them
replaced. My contact information is
mreed@current.net
and 680-8900.
SOCCER FIELDS COORDINATOR // MARC REED
Everyone has been wonderful with keeping
the fields clean during and after practices. When they water the
fields we need to share our fields the best we can so that we aren’t
causing more craters and divots in the fields. Any games at Rapid
Run Middle School on Saturdays will have some parking issues because
the Little Highlanders are there every Saturday. Sundays will have
little issues but WASA will have pre passers playing up there too.
MANAGER’S COMMITTEE // TAMMY SCHROEDER
Please contact me if you have not received
your background check cards. I know there have been some confusion
over the past couple of years with getting the cards. Please provide
me with your legal name and address to mail the card to.
Thank you, Tammy Schroeder
