I want to thank everyone that is working very hard to get the 2010 spring sports seasons up and running. Right after sign ups our coordinators begin compiling the paper work and necessary items to get the teams organized. There is a lot of behind the scene work going on by all; we appreciate all the hard work, thanks to all!
As our spring seasons are starting it is important that you attend our General Membership meetings. There is a lot of misinformation out there about DAA and how we operate. This is the best place to get correct information. Please come out and see what goes on in your organization. The meetings are the third Thursday of every month at the Delhi Lodge. The March meeting will begin at 8:00pm. It is actually required that all Managers and Head Coaches attend 3 meetings per year. We ask for a $3 donation at the door, this covers the beverages and snack, it is not required! Again, I hope to see you there.
Just a reminder, DAA requires all persons helping with the players to have completed a background check. This is completed on line via the DAA website. No one is permitted on the field with the players unless they have been approved! We are trying to be proactive in protecting your kids, please work with us in completing your background checks.
Coaches, please be sure you have all of your emergency medical forms and parent code of conduct forms filled out and signed. You must have these with you at every practice and game.
DAA will be holding a Dance on May 1 at the Delhi Senior Center. Tickets will be available at the March GM meeting. $10 per person includes beer, pop and snacks. We will have some baskets to raffle and lots of good stuff. You do not have to be a member of DAA to attend! Bring your family and friends!!
I want to thank all of the coaches, parents and players for choosing DAA! We are excited to starting off another year. We could not be here without you. Thanks to all that are volunteering their time! Let’s have a great year and make sure we have FUN!

Coming soon, DAA will be selling Cincinnati Reds tickets for $8.00 a piece. Below are the four games that we will have tickets for. Please remember that anyone can buy these tickets. Buy early because there will be a limited amount of tickets on each game.

Baseball, Softball and Soccer seasons are here! I'd like to wish all the teams good luck and most importantly to HAVE FUN!!
We are still looking for help in maintaining the fields at Delhi Middle School and CO Harrison. If you are interested in dragging the fields, marking lines, etc please let us know - even if you can only do it once in a while.
It is exciting to see so many people at the General Membership meetings. It is important to remember to be respectful of one another, even if opinions differ. With these differing ideas, no one is a "winner" or a "loser". Constructive debate actually leads to great ideas as long as the overall goal of the organization is maintained.

HALL OF FAME // KURT MECHLEY
Nominations for the 2010 Hall of Fame are now being accepted and will be accepted up to June 1, 2010. Anyone wishing to nominate an individual who they believe is worthy of this recognition should contact Kurt Mechley at either irefem@comcast.net or 513-378-5292 for an application to be forwarded to the nominee. Everyone who was nominated last year will need to submit a new application reflecting the most current information for consideration. The 2010 Hall of Fame induction will be held at the July General Meeting on July 15, 2010.
DAA MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM // KURT MECHLEY
Applications are now being accepted for the 2010 DAA Memorial Scholarship Program. Applications are available to any and all 2010 high school graduates who have played a sport sponsored by Delhi Athletic Association for at least a minimum of three years and who has maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA their entire 4 years of high school. Applications will be available at the DAA monthly meeting held the third Thursday of each month at the Delhi Lodge or by contacting Kurt Mechley at 513-378-5292 or at irefem@comcast.net. ALL APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED EITHER BY EMAIL OR MAIL AND DATE STAMPED NO LATER THAN APRIL 1ST, 2010.

Spring is almost here!! I am excited to be getting this season under way! As of right now we still have room for some U13 players and 6 and 7 year old players. If someone is interested, please contact me.
We will be in need of umpires for the 2010 season. We will be looking for USSSA sanctioned umpires. Contact me for details.

The Spring Soccer Season will start mid to late March depending on field conditions. All games will be played on Sunday after 1pm up at Rapid Run Middle School, with a start date of April 3rd or April 10th.
