WORDS FROM THE PRESIDENT // Ken Dolch

WORDS FROM THE PRESIDENT // KEN DOLCH

PLAY BALL!!!   I would like to wish all of the players and coaches the best of luck as we go into our Spring Sports Programs. Parents, Coaches, let's make this a positive experience for our young athletes. Coaches, please work with your coordinators throughout the season in getting your scores in on a timely manner and keeping an open line of communication. Speaking of communicating on a regular basis, it is important to make as many DAA general membership meetings as you can. The general membership meeting is an informational meeting that allows us to keep up on all of our team's records and successes.

REMINDER: Coaches- Please remember when playing and practicing at C.O. Harrison, Delhi Middle School and Delhi Park and visiting fields to clean up around your benches and surrounding areas after your games. It is your responsibility to pick up your team's debris and to keep these premises clean.

In addition, when the sign's in the park state "NO PRACTICE," it means exactly that.

When the weather shuts down practices on the fields, please respect the parks decision and stay off the grass areas as well. Not following these rules could result in losing field privileges and disciplinary action from our organization. There are to be NO practices on the football field at Delhi Middle School.

Our Fall sign-up dates take place this month and are on the website along with the fees. The dates are as follows;

Tuesday, April 8, 2008             6:00pm-8:30pm             C.O. Harrison
Saturday, April 19, 2008             9:00am-12:00pm             Delhi Middle School
Thursday, April 24, 2008             6:00pm-8:30pm             C.O. Harrison

These sign-ups are for Cheerleading, Instructional Cheerleading, Football, Instructional Football, Soccer and lollipop. Again, the fees for these sports are listed on the website, www.daasports.com.

Delhi Athletic Association will have three scheduled sign-ups for ALL sports with the 3rd sign-up considered the last and final sign-up. Any sign-up after the third sign-up ( April 24) is considered a late sign-up. Any and all late sign-ups will be placed on a waiting list. Should the late sign-up be placed on a team, the late sign-up will be accessed a $20.00 late fee plus all applicable fees.  Should your funds not process, there is a $20.00 bounced check fee.

Fingerprinting for background checks will take place at our April meeting. If you are intending on coaching any team in our organization you must be fingerprinted. NO ONE will be permitted on the fields coaching the children without being fingerprinted. If you were fingerprinted last year, you will need to sign a consent form to have your background check run again for 2008.

***APRIL SPECIAL GUEST***  Bill Renken of Renken Photography. Bill will be in attendance to sign up teams for their spring photos and he will have plenty of samples to show the coaches.

SPRING RAFFLE will take place at APRIL's general membership meeting as well. The prizes are $500.00 for 1st place, $300.00 for 2nd place and $200.00 for 3rd place. The funds will be handed out that evening! If you have tickets to turn in, you can mail them to DAA, P.O. Box 389249, Cincinnati, Ohio 45238 or you can hand them over to any Executive Board or Manager's committee member and they will see that your tickets get placed in the hopper. Our raffle will carry into our fall sign-ups as well.
