• I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, and officials at every game, practice or other youth sports event.
• I will insist that my child play in a safe and healthy environment.
• I will place the emotional and physical well being of my child and other children, ahead of my personal desire to win.
• I will support coaches and officials working with my child, in order to encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for all.
• I will remember that the game is for youth - not adult.
• I will do my very best to make youth sports fun for my child.
• I will ask my child to treat other players, coaches, fans, and officials with respect regardless of race, sex, creed, or ability and will do so myself.
• I will help my child enjoy the youth sports experience by doing whatever I can, such as being a respectful fan, assisting with coaching, or providing transportation.
• If I should not abide by this code of conduct, I will respect the consequences of my actions.
Consequences of not abiding by the DAA Parents Code of Ethics:
1st Offense: Manager/Head Coach will issue a verbal warning, which will be noted and reported to the Manager’s Committee.
2nd Offense: Manager will report offense to Manager’s Committee and a suspension (parent/s only) of one week of practice and games will be issued. (DAA does not expect you to leave your child alone while at practice or game, however, you will be banned from the immediate game or practice area.)
3rd offense: Manager will report offense to Manager’s Committee and parent will be permanently banned from games and practices until the end of the season.
