PRESIDENT // DON JASPER

First I want to say thanks to all the volunteers who make it possible for DAA and our kids to play sports. There are countless hours and energy that goes into making this organization what it is, not only on the field but behind the scenes. DAA has NO paid positions, we are 100% volunteer. Thanks for all of those who donate their time.

I would also like to remind everyone our general membership meetings on the third Thursday of every month at Delhi Lodge are open meetings. Everyone is invited and I encourage you to attend. This is where you can find out what is really going on with DAA. Sperad the word!!

If you are looking for that special Father's Day gift, look no further than the annual DAA Golf Outing and book it today. The outing will be held July 25th at Hillview Golf Course. 1:00 shotgun start, 18 hole scramble format. Registration begins at noon.

If paid by July 10th, fees are $260/Foursome, $65/Individual. After July 10th, fees go up to $300/Foursome, $75/Individual. Entry fee includes: Green Fees / Cart / Hot Dog – Chips – Soft Drink or Water at registration and at the turn / Steak Dinner (including roasted corn, baked potato, green beans, roll, dessert) Beer and Soft Drinks with Dinner.

HALL OF FAME // KURT MECHLEY

The 2010 Hall of Fame induction will be held at the July General Meeting on July 15, 2010.

 

SCHOLARSHIP FUND // KURT MECHLEY

The golf outing is Sunday July 25th with a 1:00 PM shotgun start followed by dinner.  Proceeds benefit the Scholarship Fund.  For those who can not eat steak, chicken is available upon request.

I am offering an email special of $5.00 off each individual or $20.00 off each foursome if you mail the completed Registration Form, along with your check payable to DAA, to my attention at 651 Hawthorne Heights, Lawrenceburg, IN 47025 on or before June 28th, 2010.  THE ENVELOPE POST MARK DATE MUST BE ON OR BEFORE JUNE 28TH IN ORDER TO RECEIVE THIS DISCOUNT.

Please feel free to pass this special onto anyone else that you believe would be interested in playing in this outing. This is a great outing comprised of average, and some not so average, golfers.

NOMINATIONS/ELECTION COMMITTEE CHAIRPERSON // MARTY SMITH

I will start taking nominations for the different positions starting in July. For those who are interested in running and want to know if you qualify, please check out the by-laws on the web site.

The requirements are section 7 through 7C. Any questions, please see me at the June Meeting

 

SOFTBALL COORDINATOR // DON JASPER

We are finishing up our wet and wild season. League tournaments start June 22 and run through the 28th. Good luck to all the teams.

The end of the year Softball meeting is Monday July 12, 7:00pm, at the Delhi Lodge. It is a mandatory for the coaches of all teams to be present, head coaches and assistants. I strongly encourage parents to attend as well. This meeting is open for the entire DAA membership. We will discuss the past season as well as any changes that may need to be made for the next season. Hope to see you all there.

 

SOCCER COORDINATOR // JEFF ESSEN

We would like to thank all of the teams for making this another successful Spring Soccer Season for DAA. We hope everyone enjoyed the experience and will sign up again next year. We would also like to thank all of the coaches for volunteering their time and effort this spring season and making it such a success for the kids of Delhi.
 
The Spring Soccer End of Season meeting will be held on June 17th at 7pm at the Delhi Soccer Shed, which is located behind the Delhi Lodge. All soccer equipment must be turned in then also.

I would also like to personally thank Marc Reed the Field/Equipment/Uniform coordinator for having the fields lined and ready to go for all the games, whether week nights or weekends, and assisting me with other things that may have popped up over the course of the spring season.

 

LOLLIPOP/PREPASSER/ COORDINATOR// MARC REED

We have completed our season, one that was a very good weather season for us. We had 1 rain out game the whole season, pretty good for us. I want to thank all of the parents and children for giving us, as coaches, an exciting time watching you all grow. I would like to thank all of our coaches for all of their great work this spring and hope that you all come back to coach in the fall.

SOCCER FIELD & EQUIPMENT COORDINATOR //  MARC REED

We are getting down to the end of our season and it has been a very uneventful season. No issues with trash and keeping our bathrooms clean during the weekends. Thank you all for the great work and making my job much easier.

We will have our end of the season meeting for soccer on June 17th at 7:00 at the soccer shed. We will be turning in our equipment at that time.

 

MANAGERS COMMITTEE // TAMMY SCHROEDER

This month's meeting is the last night for Fall Soccer applications. There have been several inquiries regarding receiving your Background Check cards. Whether you are a new coach or previous coach, please email me and I will get your card out. tjschroeder@roadrunner.com
